Mitra is currently Head of the Department of Political Science at the South Asia Institute (University of Heidelberg) where he teaches and lectures on a range of topics relating to Indian politics, economy, society and the international relations of South Asia, both at the undergraduate and post-graduate level. Dr. Kurt Hübner received his PhD in Economics and Political Science from the Free University Berlin. He holds the Chair for German and European Studies at the Institute for European Studies (IES) at the University of British Columbia and is also the holder of the Jean Monnet Chair for European Integration and Global Political Economy. Currently he acts as the director of the IES. He has published 12 books and numerous articles in journals. His most recent books are ‘Europe, Canada, and the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement’ (Routledge 2011) and ‘Global Currency Competition and Cooperation’ (Routledge 2011).

Brief profile: Michael Dusche completed his MA in philosophy and linguistics at the University of Tübingen in 1993. In 1999, he received his PhD from the University of Frankfurt am Main with a dissertation on John Rawls and Global Justice. From 2000-2005 he joined the Centre for German Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi as an Assistant Professor and DAAD Lecturer. In 2005, Dusche was also a Visiting Fellow at Jadavpur University in Kolkata. From 2005-2009, Dusche was a researcher with the Chair of Islamic Studies at the University of Erfurt. In 2009/10, he joined the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Advanced Study as a fellow. During this period he launched the book Identity Politics in India and Europe (New Delhi: SAGE, 2010) and he prepared a research proposal to be hosted by the Institute for African and Asian Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin. The proposal is currently under review by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Brief profile:
Ulrich Brückner studied Political Science, German Literature and History at the University of Würzburg and the Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin). Since the mid 1980s European integration is his field of specialization. From 1992 until 2002 Uli Brückner worked at the Department for Political Sciences at the FU Berlin as lecturer and later as Jean Monnet Chairholder, an EU program for teaching activities in the field of European Integration.
His Ph.D. is on the role of the European Commission in the policy-making of the EU. From 1997 until 2003 he also worked as a Jean Monnet visiting professor at Szczecin University in Poland.
Since 1999 Uli Brückner taught at Stanford University in Berlin and in California, ECNU and Fudan University in Shanghai, MGIMO Moscow, Sabanci University in Istanbul, University of Economics in Bratislava, the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, IESEG Business School in Lille and Paris and in Dubai.
In 2003 he became EU Jean Monnet Professor at Stanford.
Uli Brückner is a member of the expert services of the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) and of TEAM Europe, the expert service of the European and he works with the International Training for Diplomats Programme of the German Federal Foreign Office.
In Berlin he is a faculty member in the German Program and the Metropolitan Program of IES, LEXIA International, Duke University in Berlin, the european school of governance (eusg), EAWSR, FU Berlin International Summeruniversity (FUBiS), East European Studies Online and IR online Gulf Region at the Freie University Berlin.
